Job Description The Quality Assurance Technician (QA Tech) performs all lab procedures necessary to assure that product produced meets the customer's needs before eventual use. The QA Tech is also responsible for maintaining all pertinent environmental equipment and procedures as directed by the Technical Supervisor. In addition, the QA tech is responsible for maintaining equipment and procedures pertinent to the sanitation program as directed by the Technical Supervisor. The QA Tech will be qualified to perform all activities listed on the Laboratory Training check-off sheet NS-018.2A. Additional training will be performed and documented to reflect changes in procedures and equipment. The QA Tech will perform duties in a safe, environmental and quality-minded manner to meet the needs of the plant and customer. QA Tech will be knowledgeable in the safety requirements of the plant through safety training and proficient knowledge of the safety manual. QA Tech will follow proper and accepted laboratory protocol. The QA Tech will be able to perform all wet liquor analysis as needed, dry analysis as needed (to include USP and FCC requirements), sample requests, input data into computer shared files, and input relevant results into Certificates of Analysis. If the Technical Supervisor is unavailable the QA Tech has the authority to reject product that does not meet the customer's needs as described in the NSI Quality Manual. The QA Tech will maintain inventory of reagents and equipment necessary to the laboratory and ensure equipment is calibrated and operating properly per appropriate procedures. The QA Tech will take well samples, water levels, field parameters, and other process or monitoring measurements as required while following proper protocol. The QA Tech will perform wellfield maintenance and installation of wellfield equipment. The QA Tech will communicate any laboratory, environmental, or sanitation problems to the Technical Supervisor in a prompt and appropriate manner through written or verbal communications.
