Valley View Hospital, western Colorado's premiere healthcare facility, is in search of a qualified individual to join our Central Billing Office team as an Accounts Receivable Specialist. This is a Full-time, benefit-eligible position. Valley View Hospital offers a robust benefits package which includes medical/dental/vision/Rx insurances, retirement, life insurance, disability insurance, and much more.GENERAL OBJECTIVESThis position is responsible for insurance accounts receivable and follow up on unpaid or incorrectly paid claims.This position will also provide back up for key positions throughout the office.This position will often work on special projects as assigned from management.PRIMARY DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIESAnswer telephone calls from patients, payors, physicians, and others appropriately per office standards.Respond to and record all efforts to resolve outstanding balances with insurance company/payer correspondence for all Practices.Follow policy and procedures for all insurance balances including but not limited to appeals, phone calls, medical records requests, etc.Respond to and record all efforts for other accounts receivable projects as distributed by management.Provide feedback to management regarding AR trends and issues.Provide back up for other positions as required.Assist with special projects as requested.QUALIFICATIONSEducation:High school diploma or equivalent.One year certificate from college or technical school; and, one year related billing experience and/or training; or, equivalent combination of education and experience.Medical billing and health insurance-related policies, processes, and procedures required.Skills/Abilities:Excellent customer service skills required.Ability to use computers, including Windows-based programs; previous experience with Athena and NexGen preferred.Excellent speaking and written communication skills required.Ability to work in and support a team environment and the ability to teach others.SALARYEntry wage dependent upon education, experience and skillsetPosition wage range: $20.00 - $28.87/hourBENEFITSValley View offers a comprehensive benefit package that supports our employees' physical, emotional and financial health.Medical, Dental, Pharmacy and VisionEmployer paid life insuranceFlexible Spending Account (FSA)Generous Paid Time Off accrualTuition Assistance401(a) and 403(b) retirement plansEmployee Assistance ProgramEmployee discount for Valley View servicesUse of Corporate Ski Passes for Aspen and Sunlight Ski Resorts
