SGM delivers responsive service and high-quality solutions in the areas of civil/site development, water and wastewater, water resources, transportation, structural, municipal, mechanical, electrical and plumbing (MEP), surveying, GIS and asset management.Position Summary:The Human Resources Manager will manage organizational functions including, departmental resource planning, retention, employee relations, benefits administration, recruiting, and new hire orientation, among other duties. They will also provide HR support for various locations across the mountain range. This individual will work closely with management and executives to develop the processes and metrics that support the achievement of the organization's business goals through people optimization.Responsibilities include: Develop department goals, objectives, and systemsOrganizational and departmental human capital planningRecommends and implements personnel policies and procedures; maintains handbook on policies and proceduresAdministration of the company's compensation and benefits strategy; alignment of benefits strategy between employee attraction and engagement and company visionWork with external auditors on 401k plan auditsEstablish an open, yet consistent process for employee relations and engagement strategies including facilitating employee recognition programs, company rewards and events, company-wide communication to foster collaboration and forward-thinking culture, yet strive for high accountability and performanceCounsel managers on personnel items, identifies issues, recommends and supports corrective action.Provides counsel in employee related issues, conduct investigations, and suggests corrective actions including disciplinary actions.Support workplace safety training and maintain compliance with labor and employment laws for employment practices, working conditions and reporting; mitigate risk through developing programs that improve safety for employees and customersRecruitment and selection of talent including fostering a strong employment brand, following a consistent and proactive process and accurate and fair screening; make recommendation on partnerships and alliances where appropriate and manage those relationshipsManage the intake and onboarding process for new hires ensuring a best in class experienceManage performance management system including review process and procedures, training and developmentCoordinate career fairs with local collegesSupervise Administrative Team LeaderQualifications:Strong progressive HR management experienceBS HRM preferred or similarPrevious experience working effectively with all levels of employees and management, preferably with a smaller companyProven experience building and optimizing processes and programs to promote employee engagement and performance Strong HR generalist capabilities in benefits administration, payroll, safety and compliance, performance management and staffingDemonstrated experience in guiding conflict resolution and facilitating employee relations activitiesExtensive knowledge of current State and Federal Employment lawsAbility to work autonomously and self-directedAbility to multitask and meet deadlines in a fast paced work environmentDemonstrated ability to plan, prioritize, organize, and accomplish successful projectsStrong communication, interpersonal and influential skills, ability to serve as the cultural championValid Driver's LicenseAbility to travel out of town occasionallyStrong desire to live, work and play in Western ColoradoWorking knowledge of Microsoft Office suiteCompensation:A competitive base compensation is offered, plus a comprehensive benefit plan.
