Inventory Planning Manager The primary role of the Inventory Planning Manager is to proactively manage, monitor and analyze inventory, systems & processes in a way that identifies and addresses "up-stream" issues to support customer delivery requirements. The primary focus will be to ensure ERP and WMS/TMS applications are accurately maintained to improve on-time customer delivery and reduce backorders/cancellations. Additional focus will be to identify and prioritize the opportunities for process efficiency that maximize throughput and customer service levels. What You Will Do: Manages material planning activity to ensure timely delivery of material to support production operations. Serve as an escalation point with Material Planners when Planners are not able to resolve issues effectively. Manage changes in supply chain requirements (including supplier transitions or product modifications). Ensure that Planning Team is trained and effectively utilizing ERP tools Ensure that Planning Team is utilizing Allegion Standard Work and the Material Playbook. Champion Lean for Materials Planning functions Identify gaps and drive solutions, including metrics on supplier performance. Plan for the development of the materials team by organizing training sessions. On-boarding of new selected suppliers relative to material planning. Maintain proactive shortage identification and management - help flag root causes & corrective actions. Identify total cost and cash flow opportunities with suppliers. Maintain and continuously evaluate supplier performance and escalate to Procurement when issues occur. Analyze sales trends, forecast data, and new product/program rollouts to ensure ERP & WMS/TMS attributes are in accordance with customer needs to achieve on-time shipments (OTA) of 98.5% Maintain data integrity of ERP planning attributes (i.e. lead time, lot size, safety stock, delivery time, etc.) and WMS/TMS attributes (i.e. weights & dimensions, pick path, location sizing, replenishment timing & slotting and order file data for all items as assigned. + Analyze, maintain and configure prime pick locations for all stocked items slotting to ensure appropriate sizing, replenishment levels & timing and standard work processes to ensure efficient flow of materials to and from location. Coordinate placement and movement of product for unique events (NPI, new stores, annual resets, promos, etc.) to minimize overall daily disruption and comply with customer delivery expectations. Communicate and track any systemic problems to ensure timely resolution. Understand and communicate sudden volume spikes or exceptions and escalate as appropriate to mitigate impact to OTA or retail fill rates in a proactive manner. Maintain facility OTA MDI, Pareto and RAIL items needed to support 98.5% OTA/retail fill rates. Drives continuous process improvement, strives to improve efficiency, likely to challenge processes where favorable alternatives may be available. Develop a comprehensive suite of standard and ad-hoc reports to support efficient flow and throughput at the facility. Develop report mock-ups and data visualizations leading to better understanding of business problems and analytical insights Reporting, advising and leading projects on process improvements. Collaborate with Materials and Business teams to develop a plan to identify and minimize OSMI in the facility. Develops a working knowledge of end-to-end inventory management, best practices, as-is business process, event participants and triggers, master data management, transactional data management, item lifecycle, including sourcing, stocking, distribution, replenishment, reverse logistics, and/or dispositions and any and all regulatory compliance guidelines and/or ordinances that influence the business process. What You Need to Succeed: BS/BA degree in business, data analytics or engineering discipline Minimum 5 years prior experience in manufacturing or supply chain roles Minimum 1 year prior experience in high volume retail or eCommerce distribution. Minimum 1 year of experience in analyzing and presenting summary analysis of data relating to sales or product forecasting. Experience in warehouse operations, line balancing, inventory management, MRP, strategic slotting and pick path optimization and lean concepts/processes. Skilled in supplier scheduling including supply chain implementation of New Product Introductions APICS Certification in Production and Inventory Management (CPIM), or commitment to obtain within the first 18 months of employment. Experience with visual management systems. Able to provide direction and training to peers as needed. Key Competencies and Success Factors: Experience using MRP / ERP systems, especially Advance Planning Systems Considerable knowledge of industry related supply base Ability to effectively make complex decisions with limited time and information and can determine decision making criteria based on priorities. Data access/retrieval skills with extensive experience in data analysis, data manipulation using MS Office (especially Excel and Access), MSBI and/or other tools as provided. Working knowledge of WMS/TMS applications. Strong interpersonal skills, proactive change agent, independent problem resolution, and proven informal leadership ability. Ability to collaborate effectively across multiple disciplines with internal and external resources. Strong analytical capabilities, with a basic understanding of statistical analysis techniques.
