      Interim ED RN Supervisor

      Job Description

      The Interim Emergency Department RN Supervisor reports directly to the Director of Emergency Services while managing a team of 60 FTE's. The Emergency Department RN Supervisor assumes responsibility for the coordination of both clinical and managerial duties by maintaining a suitable environment for nursing practice and patient care; assisting staff with ethical, legal and patient/family advocacy issues; demonstrating knowledge and clinical expertise and aiding staff to develop the same; and collaborating with the Director of Emergency Services to develop and implement policies, procedures and systems that support the clinical practice of nursing. Holds nursing staff accountable for performing and delivering patient care that is consistent with the organization's Mission, Vision, and Values as well as the organization's strategic plan. The Interim ED RN Supervisor participates in unit performance improvement activities as well as promotes the concept and image of professional Emergency/Trauma nursing practice.


      Leads employees, supports organizational goals and decisions; implement necessary changes, and participates in strategic planning.

      Accountable for the everyday management of patient care in the Emergency Department.

      Provided guidance and expertise to all shifts.

      Holds nursing staff accountable for performing and delivering patient care that is consistent with the organization's Mission, Vision, and Values as well as the organization's strategic plan.

      Ensures the services provided considering the age-specific physiological, emotional, and cognitive needs of the patients served.

      Acts as a liaison between the patient/family, physician, and patient care team as necessary to problem solve.

      Evaluates outcomes through monitoring of the patient and making appropriate changes in care to improve outcomes.


      Active RN licensure upon hire

      2-5 years of Emergency Department Leadership experience in a supervisory or management role

      Strong hands-on leadership capability, within a fast-paced environment

      Ideal candidates will demonstrate the ability to build strong relationships and hold staff accountable

      Certification requirements: ACLS, BLS, PALS, TNCC
