This involves finding the issue that caused the underpayment or lack of payment and following through to completion of payment. The person who accepts this job will also do some miscellaneous accounting duties.Essential Responsibilities:Identifies unpaid or short-paid claims through use of the aging spreadsheet.Follows up on all zero pay/underpaid claimsIdentify denial trends.Works denied claims and implements correctionsWorks with insurance payors to follow their reconsideration and/or appeals processRuns weekly reports to audit claims for billing requirementsAssists with pre-authorizations if necessaryPerforms accounting functions such as processing accounts payable and other accounting functionsOther duties as assignedWe are an equal opportunity employer and prohibit discrimination/harassment without regard to race, color, religion, age, sex, national origin, disability status, genetics, protected veteran status, sexual orientation, gender identity or expression, or any other characteristic protected by federal, state or local laws.Requirements:The Billing Specialist must possess the following qualifications:A minimum of 2 years' experience as a Medical Biller or similar role.Solid understanding of billing software and electronic medical records.Must have the ability to multitask and manage time effectively.Excellent written and verbal communication skills.Outstanding problem-solving and organizational abilitiesAbility to pay attention to detailPI186642869SDL2017
