Job Description:

Job Summary: Supervises nursing care of all patients assigned to a designated clinical area.# Administrative responsibilities include planning, organizing, leading controlling and coordinating the overall work of the professional and nonprofessional nursing service personnel within the unit on a 24 hour basis.# Responsibilities also include preparation of and accountability for annual operational and capital budget of his/her designated unit or clinical area.# Works integrally with the direct and indirect health care team members; facilitates all avenues of communication involving the unit.# Promotes the nursing philosophy by assisting staff to strive for professional development, professional relationships, and conduct.# Performs direct patient care; may be required to rotate shifts and be designated as AA/NS.# Oversees clinical leadership in the clinical/support areas of Surgery, PACU, SDS, Central Processing, Endoscopy and Pain Clinic. ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS #### 50% I ESSENTIAL JOB DUTIES # # Personnel Management- Manage staffing, including recruitment, supervision, scheduling, development, evaluation, and disciplinary actions. # # Fiscal Responsibility- Develop business case justifications and cost/benefit analyses for Department spending and initiatives. Develop and review budget for department and ensure it complies with stated goals, guidelines, and objectives. # # Regulatory # Accreditation Compliance - Develop and implement all Department policies and procedures. # # Staff Development# Ensure that staff members are aligned with department and organizational goals. Provide continued educational opportunities to support those goals. # # Departmental Quality # Performance Improvement# Develop and implement strategies to continually improve quality and performance of the department as it relates to the mission and goals of the organization. # II SERVICE EXCELLENCE/CUSTOMER SERVICE # # Promotes service excellence within the department through purposeful projects. Responds in a timely fashion to patient inquiries and complaints. # # Represents the department/hospital as a dedicated, courteous, and responsive employee.
