ASSISTANT PROJECT MANAGER/PROJECT ENGINEER

Key Responsibilities and Duties:

  • Able to perform all Project Engineer job responsibilities.
  • Prepare and maintain submittal logs and procurement log.
  • Prepare and maintain RFI logs in Procore.
  • Assists Project Manager & Superintendent with day to day operations and project management.
  • Attends pre-construction meetings and progress meetings with or for Project Manager.
  • Ensure requirements of contracts and scopes of work are met.
  • Oversees safety standards are enforced and weekly safety meetings are held.
  • Assists and attends weekly OAC meetings (take minutes & distributes accordingly).
  • Assists with monthly WIP reports.
  • Assists Project Manager with material procurement to meet the construction schedule.
  • Review and code invoices appropriately. Check for accuracy and compare to cost to complete forecast.
  • Estimate, prepare and negotiate Change Orders.
  • Assist with managing close out processes.
  • Document and manage punch list work.
  • Responsible for maintaining owner, subcontractor, and client relationships.Qualifications:
    • 4-Year Bachelor's Degree in Construction Management
    • 2-5 Years Commercial Construction Management and or Assistant Project Management with the ability to execute multiple projects simultaneously
    • Experience, working knowledge and thorough comprehension with Construction Design and Plans
    • Experience and working knowledge with scheduling software is a plus. (CPM)
    • OSHA 10/30 Certification is a plus.
    • Excellent communication, interpersonal and business management skills are required.Knowledge & Skills:
      • Proficiency in MS Suite especially Excel, Word and Outlook.
      • Knowledge of Procore or project management software.
      • Ability to write, review and edit cost narratives.
      • Ability to review accurate take-offs and estimate from conceptual and schematic drawings.
      • Ability to review and understand construction specifications and complete scope of work.
      • Excellent research skills are necessary.
      • Ability to manage time, organize and utilize all available resources to meet strict deadlines and achieve expected goals.
      • Must be detailed oriented, self-starter and have ability to function in high-stress situations.Physical Requirements:
        • Must be able to assist in moving, lifting, carrying, storing or transporting materials and equipment (must be able to lift 50 lbs or more).
        • Must be able to inspect all areas of the project/job site in all types of weather; which may include stooping, bending, climbing, pushing, crawling or stretching.
        • Must be flexible with travel requirements (determined per position and location of project)
        • Must be available to address delays, emergencies, bad weather and other relatable issues at the job site when Project Manager and/or Superintendent are not available.Company Benefits
