Relocation Assistance Package and#short-term housing may be available. The Senior Staff Accountant will provide organizational and administrative support to the hospital finance department. Completes all duties related to monthly journal entries, annual audit and budget support. In addition, this position will assist with various tasks and projects as assigned by the CFO and will assist Department Managers with finance inquiries. Always maintains the highest level of customer service, confidentiality and security. ESSENTIAL JOB DUTIES # Stay abreast of best practices, current laws and regulations to ensure hospital is compliant and meets state and federal guidelines. # Responds to outside agency inquiries (Internal Revenue Service, State Department of Treasury, Colorado Hospital Association, Division of Labor, etc.) including Worker#s Compensation Audits. # Responsible for processing and accounting for fixed assets. # Prepares monthly Databank reporting for the Colorado Hospital Association. # Monthly reconciliation of multiple balance sheet accounts such as cash, fixed assets, and accruals. # Prepare monthly journal entries related to cash, accruals and re-classes. # Demonstrates proficiency in preparing financial statements, with particular emphasis on Balance Sheet items. # Participates in preparation of annual financial audit.# This includes reconciliation of accounts, and preparation of audit schedules. # Various finance and administrative duties as assigned by CFO. # SERVICE EXCELLENCE/CUSTOMER SERVICE # Demonstrates purposeful service excellence: Smile, Introduce yourself, make eye contact, ask what you can do to help, explain what you are doing and why, exceed expectations # Represents the department and hospital as a dedicated, courteous, and responsive employee. # PATIENT SAFETY, QUALITY IMPROVEMENT # CONFIDENTIALITY # Adheres to all security, confidentiality, and privacy policies. # Takes initiative to stay informed of and contribute to (as appropriate) current hospital-wide and departmental patient safety and quality initiatives.# Identifies and promotes new learning around changing safety standards of practice. # Participates in required training for compliance related activities (HIPAA, Compliance, Patient Safety, TJC, etc.). # UNIT SPECIFIC DUTIES # RESPONSIBILITIES / DAY TO DAY OPERATIONS # Duties as specified under Section I # Essential Job Duties # Perform special projects as assigned by CFO. # LEADERSHIP # Demonstrates responsibility and accountability for own professional decision making and professional growth. # Participates and contributes to departmental meetings and activities. # POPULATION SPECIFIC CRITERIA Demonstrates the ability to assess and interact with customers of all ages, recognizing language and learning barriers, and technology challenges. # Able to state his/her duties during a code pink drill. # CORE VALUES # Patient Centered, Teamwork, Respect for Others, Accountability, Integrity # EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS Degree in Accounting required Knowledge of accounting principles required Minimum of three years of accounting or corporate tax required CPA preferred ##LICENSE/REGISTRATION/CERTIFICATIONS Certified Public Accountant preferred #KNOWLEDGE AND SKILL REQUIREMENTS# Ability to concentrate and demonstrate attention to detail Relatively high degree of analytical abilities Strong interpersonal skills required Ability to work independently Ability to handle frequent interruptions Relocation Assistance Package and short-term housing may be available.   • Degree in Accounting required
  • Knowledge of accounting principles required
  • Minimum of three years of accounting or corporate tax required
  • CPA preferred LICENSE/REGISTRATION/CERTIFICATIONS
    • Certified Public Accountant preferred KNOWLEDGE AND SKILL REQUIREMENTS
      • Ability to concentrate and demonstrate attention to detail
